Over the past 25 years, the research federation known as the Institut Pierre Simon Laplace (IPSL) has created a collaborative research environment in Île-de-France with the aim of comprehensively understanding and modelling the climate system and the impact of human activities. Today, IPSL is recognised as a world leader in climate research.
IPSL has been awarded a University Research School (2018), the IPSL Climate Graduate School (EUR IPSL-CGS), which aims to offer research-based training programmes that are nationally and internationally visible and attractive. These programmes focus on different aspects of the climate system, climate change and its impacts. Consequently, the IPSL Climate Graduate School is actively involved in the development of training initiatives that aim to train a new generation of societal advocates capable of raising awareness of climate-related issues among both the general public and policy makers.
